Have you read the book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers? Me neither! Yet it sat on my bookshelf for many years.
I never felt the need to read the book - the title was enough. Whenever the weight of worry and doubt held me back from taking action, I’d just tell myself, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, and I’d push through! 💪🏻 I used to lend the book out to my clients who needed courage to make a change. Finally, someone never returned it, which didn’t bother me. The book served its purpose.
Up until my initial spiritual awakening, I lived my life according to THE PLAN. 📖 What plan? You know the one - get good grades, go to college, get a stable job at a reputable company and then work your way up the ladder. Back then when I didn’t have awareness of my own higher self, it made sense to follow consensus wisdom. I listened to what “the experts” aka successful people recommended.
⛔️ The problem was, it wasn’t my truth.
Once I started my spiritual journey, I began to reconnect with my inner wisdom through meditation and energy work. It became increasingly uncomfortable to live out of alignment with my soul. I needed my life to be an authentic expression of my higher self’s values and purpose. ✨
So I left the corporate world and moved 5000 miles away ✈️ to set out on a journey of soul exploration and remembrance - without a job or a place to live lined up. People would shake their heads and ask incredulously, “Why would you leave Hawaii for Boston?” I didn’t have a sensible answer. The truth, my truth, was I was listening to my soul calling.
Decades later, I’m once again moving thousands of miles away, this time to a different country where they speak a language I’m not fluent in. 🤷🏻♀️ Again, I’m being asked, “Why are you moving? Why Ecuador?” Thankfully, most of the people in my life now get it when I say, “I feel it in my soul.”
A beautiful part of living a soul-led 💖 life is that it gives you incredible conviction and strength to make bold moves and live fearlessly. Not because I have illusions that this move will be easy or without challenges. Nor do I pretend to live a charmed life where Spirit gives me everything I want when I want it. It’s the inner knowing that there’s a higher design for my life than my mind can even conceive (and of course that’s true for each of us.) When I trust my intuition to guide me, I can take daring leaps into the Unknown with Spirit as my safety net - and so can you!
⚡️ What fearless step are you ready to take?
